One micro-example: I told my 15-year-old son that wearing the same clothes all his peers wear is not exactly standing out (he is not branding himself, in our terms...), so he is not going to be easily remembered by the girl he likes -- and to whom he yet has to develop the courage to talk :) So, he listened (!) and started to wear different dress shirts to school, than the same old t-shirts he used to wear. And, the girl took notice of the change! Branding? Sure, in a small scale, but branding nonetheless...
